Singapore stocks close 0.95 pct lower

SINGAPORE, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 0.95 percent or 32.99 points to close at 3,435.78.

A total of 1.34 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 980.3 million Singapore dollars (about 727.12 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 196 to 179.

The STI index closed up 0.09 percent or 3.23 points to close at 3,468.77 on Wednesday. Enditem
