IAG group workers announce Christmas strike at Barcelona airport

Xinhua,December 13, 2017 Adjust font size:

MADRID, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Travelers using the El Prat airport in Spain's Barcelona in the runup to Christmas will face the threat of delays after workers for the IAG group announced holding an industrial action on Dec. 21-24.

The Union General de Trabajadores (UGT) confirmed the news in tweet on Tuesday, explaining the action had been called for about 2,000 IAG workers at El Prat as they had still received no solution to staff shortages.

The action will see check-in staff, ground staff and cabin crew provide limited service during four three-hour periods on the four days with some of the highest passenger numbers of the year, although the exact times of the stoppages have yet to be confirmed. Enditem
