German shares gain 0.46 pct Tuesday

FRANKFURT, Dec.12 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 59.88 points, or 0.46 percent, to close at 13,183.53 points.

Energy group RWE won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 2.16 percent. Pharmaceutical company Merck and multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer rose by 1.49 percent and 1.33 percent respectively.

European mass media company ProSiebenSat.1 lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 1.28 percent. German airlines Lufthansa and sportswear and equipment maker Adidas down by 1.17 percent and 0.99 percent respectively.

Bayer was the most-traded share with a turnover of 250.20 million euros (294.38 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
