NEW DELHI, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and leading Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma have finally got married, ending weeks of speculation.

The couple tied the knot in a picturesque heritage property at Tuscany in Italy on Monday.

"Today we have promised each other to be bound in love forever. We are truly blessed to share the news with you," the couple tweeted late Monday night.

"This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans and well-wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey," they added.

Along with their tweets, Virat and Anushka, both 29, tagged a picture of their favorite moment from the wedding ceremony.

The couple will hold two wedding receptions, one in Delhi on Dec. 21 and another in Mumbai on Dec. 26, following which they will travel to South Africa for a cricket match.

A leading batsman, Kohli holds numerous records, including the fastest one-day century, the fastest batsman to 5,000 one-day runs and the fastest to 10 one-day centuries.

He is also the second batsman in the world to have scored 1,000 or more one-day runs for four consecutive calendar years.

Anushka is one of the most popular and highest-paid actresses in India, who made her acting debut in 2008 with superstar Shah Rukh Khan in the successful romance Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Enditem
