LOS ANGELES-- California's Governor Jerry Brown said Saturday that climate change has pushed weather to the most extreme, and the U.S. western state must better prepare for a constant threat of wildfire which is a "new normal."

KABUL -- At least 12 insurgents were killed during the airstrikes conducted by Afghan air forces in Kunduz province in northern Afghanistan on Saturday, the defense ministry said in a statement on Sunday.
"The air forces targeted the convoy of militants in Imam Sahib district of Kunduz province Saturday evening, killing at least 12 insurgents," said the statement, adding a vehicle used by militants was also destroyed. (Afghanistan-Insurgents)

MEXICO CITY -- The president of Mexico's right-wing National Action Party (PAN), Ricardo Anaya, on Saturday stepped down from his post to seek the presidential nomination of a new coalition.
Anaya handed his resignation to the PAN leadership in Mexico City, hours after the coalition named "Por Mexico al Frente" (Ahead for Mexico) was formed by the right-wing PAN and the left-wing Party of the Democratic Revolution and Citizen Movement. (Mexico-Elections-PAN)

UNITED NATIONS -- The UN's political chief on Saturday stressed the urgency of reducing tensions on the Korean Peninsula after finishing his four-day visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
