WASHINGTON, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- U.S. economy continue to see steady job growth in November, with jobless rate keeping at 17-year low.

The total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 228,000 in November, after an adjusted-increase of 244,000 in October, said the Labor Department on Friday.

The unemployment rate in November remained at 4.1 percent, still at the 17-year low. The labor force participation rate, which shows the share of working-age people in the labor force, was 62.7 percent in the month, unchanged from October.

In November, wage grew at faster pace of 2.5 percent on a year-on-year basis, higher than the revised 2.3 percent growth in October.

A recent report released by the Federal Reserve showed that U.S. economy continued modest to moderate growth pace in October and mid-November, with price pressures building up.

Friday's job report would support the Federal Reserve to raise interest rate next week, according to market watchers. Enditem
