Indonesia sets 20 gold-target in Asian Para Games

JAKARTA, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- Athletes with disabilities from Indonesia expect to secure 19 to 20 gold medals in the Asian Para Games next year in the country, a senior official said.

"We hope to secure 19 to 20 gold medals in regional sport event," Sapta Kunta Purnama, a coordinator of the country' technical team for the Asian Para Games said on Wednesday night.

Purnama said that Indonesia championed the ASEAN Para Games in Malaysia and that the country's athletes must strive to achieve even more next year.

The 2018 Asian Para Games, also known as the 3rd Asian Para Games, run parallel with the 2018 Asian Games, as a multi-sport event for Asian athletes with disabilities.

It it set to be held in Indonesia's capital of Jakarta from October 8 to 16 of next year. Enidtem
