China pleased to see constructive UN role on Korean Peninsula nuclear issue

BEIJING, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- China is pleased to see the United Nations play a constructive role in helping resolve the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang said Tuesday.

Jeffrey Feltman, the United Nations under-secretary-general for political affairs, will visit the Democratic People's Republic of Korea from Tuesday to Friday, the United Nations said Monday.

During a recent visit to China, Feltman met Vice Foreign Minister Li Baodong, and the two sides exchanged views on UN affairs and issues of common concern, Geng told a press briefing. Enditem
