THE HAGUE, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- PSV extended their lead on rivals Ajax to 10 points on Sunday, one week before the clash between the two teams in Amsterdam.

PSV had a difficult first half against Sparta Rotterdam on Sunday in Eindhoven. Substitute Luuk de Jong became the match winner in the 52nd minute. After that goal PSV had some more chances and captain Marco van Ginkel hit the post. However, De Jong's goal was decisive.

Also on Sunday AZ beat VVV-Venlo 2-0 in Venlo, thanks to a late own goal by Ralf Seuntjens and a goal by AZ defender Pantelis Hatzidiakos. With the three points AZ passed Ajax on the table.

On Saturday Ajax lost two points at FC Twente. Two free kicks by Lasse Schone earned Ajax a 2-0 lead in the first half, but in the second half Twente equalized through a header and volley by Stefan Thesker. Justin Kluivert put Ajax in front again, but Tom Boere headed in the 3-3 one minute from time.

Also on Saturday Feyenoord booked their first home victory since August 27. The reigning champions beat Vitesse 1-0 in Rotterdam. Danish striker Nicolai Jorgensen tipped in a cross by Sofyan Amrabat in the 9th minute. On Friday PEC Zwolle drew 1-1 at home to FC Utrecht.

PSV now lead the Eredivisie table with 39 points, followed by AZ (31), Ajax (29), PEC Zwolle (26) and Feyenoord (25). Next Sunday Ajax host PSV in Amsterdam. Enditem
