European champion Toma sweeps women's 63kg category at weightlifting worlds

ANAHEIM, United States, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- European champion Loredana Elena Toma claimed a clean sweep of all golds at the women's 63kg event at the ongoing world weightlifting championships held in Anaheim, United States on Friday.

The Romanian athlete demonstrated her supremacy in the snatch by lifting 109kg and took a 7kg advantage over the runner-up Maude Charron of Canada.

Toma then lifted 128kg to take the clean and jerk title which also brought her the overall gold at 237kg.

Lina Rivas Ordonez of Columbia took bronzes in both snatch and clean and jerk, which helped her secure a runner-up finish in total at 225kg. The overall bronze went to her compatriot Isabel Perez Tigrero, who managed 4th in both snatch and clean and jerk. Enditem
