British stocks down 0.36 pct Friday

LONDON, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.36 percent, or 26.18 points, to close at 7,300.49 points.

ConvaTec Group, a multinational pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical company, soared 2.84 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. British American Tobacco and Anglo American increased by 2.04 percent and 1.84 percent, respectively.

The British multinational food processing and retailing company Associated British Foods was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 2.65 percent. Severn Trent, a British water company, dropped 2.53 percent. Prudential, an international financial services group, dropped 2.37 percent. Enditem
