Int'l agro machine, technology expo opens in Vietnam

HANOI, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- The International Exhibition on Machineries and Technologies of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery (Growtech 2017), the first of its kind in Vietnam, kicked off here on Thursday.

Over 100 companies from 20 countries and regions participated in the exhibition. Hundreds of kinds of agro equipment and technologies from countries including China, Israel, Germany, Britain, Italy, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia and Vietnam are being showcased at more than 200 booths.

During the three-day expo, four seminars are to take place with the topics of "Vietnam's forestry in the 4th industrial revolution: To apply high-tech in forestry protection and extension," "Israel's agriculture - Overcoming natural challenges by technology innovation," "Commercialization of technology in the agriculture sector in Vietnam," and "To develop the processing and preservation of agro products."

Vietnam gained over 33.1 billion U.S. dollars from exporting agro-forest-seafood products in the first 11 months of this year, up 13.8 percent year-on-year, said the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Enditem
