CHANGCHUN, China, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- China's Jilin City ice hockey team beat the Russian Diesel fleet team 3-2 in the 29th round of the Supreme Hockey League (VHL) here on Wednesday for its fifth consecutive victory.

Altoure scored the opener for Jilin in the ninth minute before Anton followed suit for a 2-0 lead. In the next quarter, Alexander expanded the lead to 3-0 and Jilin stopped a strong two-goal comback from Diesel to seal the victory.

"The reason for the victory is that we seized the two chances to play much less and thanks to our goalkeeper," said Beldnikov Sergei, the Russian coach of Jilin City team, which ranked ninth in the 27-team league. Enditem
