Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) between China and U.S. passed 60 billion U.S. dollars in 2016, more than any other year in history, said a report jointly released by the Rhodium Group and the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations (NCUSCR).

"U.S.-China two-way FDI reached an all-time high in 2016, elevating the importance of this facet of the bilateral economic relationship," said the joint report. (U.S.-China-FDI)

LONDON -- Four men aged between 18 to 27 were arrested on charges connected to terrorism on Wednesday, London police authorities said.

MEXICO CITY -- A small private aircraft crashed on Wednesday near Toluca International Airport, in the central State of Mexico, killing the two pilots on board.

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Justice Department on Wednesday named former FBI Director Robert Mueller as special counsel to oversee the investigation into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. election and related matters.

"Considering the unique circumstance of this matter, however, I determined that a Special Counsel is necessary in order for the American people to have full confidence in the outcome," said U.S. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in a statement. (FBI-Election-Russia)

MOSUL -- Iraqi forces battling Islamic State (IS) militants on Wednesday liberated a new neighborhood amid heavy clashes with IS in a push that initiated a new front in the northwestern edge of IS stronghold in the western side of Mosul, the Iraqi military said.

The commandos of the Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) freed al-Rifai neighborhood and raised the Iraqi flag over some of its buildings after killing many IS militants, Abdul-Amir Yarallah from the Joint Operations Command (JOC) said in a statement. (Iraq-IS-Mosul) Endi
