French shares drop 1.63 pct on Wednesday

French shares lost on Wednesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 1.63 percent, or 88.21 points, to close at 5,317.89 points.

All of the 40 selected large companies lost in the day.

French banking giant BNP Paribas tumbled 3.12 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French multinational advertising and public relations company Publicis Groupe was down 3.07 percent.

The Luxembourg-based multinational steel manufacturing corporation Arcelormittal lost 2.93 percent. Endit
