Glasses-less 3D phone unveiled in southwest China

Xinhua, May 17, 2017 Adjust font size:

A smart phone that can take 3-D pictures visible by the naked eye was unveiled Wednesday in southwest China's Sichuan Province.

The phone, manufactured by a Shenzhen-based company, allows users to take pictures, watch movies and play games in 3-D without wearing 3-D glasses, thanks to "the most advanced glasses-free 3-D technology" used in its liquid crystal screen, according to the company.

"A virtual reality chip is embedded in the phone, which allows the image display to be more clear and precise," said company vice president Gao Tongliang in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province.

The phone will be priced between 2,000 to 3,000 yuan (291 to 435 U.S. dollars). Endi
