NATO will hold talks on weapons of mass destruction non-proliferation and arms control in Finland, the bloc said Wednesday.
This is one of NATO's largest outreach activities. NATO partner Finland will host the 13th annual NATO conference from May 29 to 30 in Helsinki, according to a NATO press release.
More than 100 participants from nearly 50 NATO and partner countries and international organizations such as the United Nations and the European Union will gather together for this informal event.
The conference will address topical issues in view of a changing international security environment, such as the multilateral non-proliferation regimes and regional proliferation challenges. Discussions on non-proliferation in Syria and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) will also be on the agenda.
The conference will be opened by Timo Soini, minister for foreign affairs of Finland. A statement will be delivered by NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller. Enditem
