China to send team for Uganda's International Woodball Open Championship

Uganda Woodball Federation (UWF) has confirmed that China has registered to send a team for the fifth Uganda International Woodball Open Championship.

John Baptist Kateregga, the UWF chief executive officer told Xinhua on Wednesday that the Championship which will be run in accordance with the latest International Woodball Federation enacted rules will take place June 29 to July 2 in Entebbe, 40km south of the capital Kampala.

Kateregga said China together with Hong Kong of China, Indonesia, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, Japan and South Korea are among the teams from Asia that have entered the event.

"We expect the teams from Asia to spice up the event because they have played this game for more years and have the experienced players," added Kateregga.

He also said the Malaysia Woodball Association confirmed that they will send a 4-man team.

The African nations that have confirmed participation include Kenya, Tanzania, Comoros, Rwanda, Burundi, Zimbabwe, Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria and hosts Uganda. Endit
