Kremlin denies reports on Trump's leaking secrets to Russia

The Kremlin on Tuesday denied media reports that U.S. President Donald Trump had shared classified information with senior Russian officials.

"For us, it's just another nonsense," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Various U.S. media outlets reported on Monday that Trump leaked "highly classified information" about the Islamic State in Syria to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian Ambassador to the United States Sergei Kislyak during a White House meeting last week.

On Tuesday, Trump defended his right to reveal anti-terrorist information to Russia, but he did not say whether it was highly classified.

"As President, I wanted to share with Russia (at an openly scheduled W. H. meeting) which I have the absolute right to do, facts pertaining to terrorism and airline flight safety," Trump said on Twitter.

"Humanitarian reasons, plus I want Russia to greatly step up their fight against ISIS and terrorism," Trump tweeted. Endi
