Chinese president's special envoy to attend Timor-Leste presidential inauguration

Zhang Ping will attend the Timor-Leste president's inauguration ceremony as special envoy of President Xi Jinping, Chinese Foreign Ministry announced Tuesday.

Zhang, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, is making the trip at the invitation of Timor-Leste President-elect Francisco Guterres Lu-Olo, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying told a routine press briefing.

Zhang will also attend the celebration of 15th anniversary of Timor-Leste's restoration of independence, said Hua.

The inauguration of Lu-Olo and 15th anniversary celebration will be held in Dili from May 19 to 20. Endit
