Xinhua News Agency pledged to further strengthen its cooperation with international organizations to contribute to the development cause.

President of the Xinhua News Agency Cai Mingzhao made the remarks Monday during meetings with Executive Director of UN Population Fund (UNFPA) Babatunde Osotimehin, chief of United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Anthony Lake, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Peter Maurer, and UN Under-Secretary-General and Acting Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Tegegnework Gettu.

Cai spoke highly of the smooth cooperation between Xinhua and these agencies, saying Xinhua was ready to conduct further cooperation with them and fully supported the agencies' work and objectives.

The visiting officials voiced their hope for closer cooperation with Xinhua, to draw more attention to the causes of human development, the health and education of children, humanitarian assistance, and the goal of sustainable development.

Xinhua has signed MOUs on cooperation with more than ten UN agencies.

The officials were all attending the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation that opened on Sunday. Endi
