Halep retains Madrid Mutua Open title

Simona Halep won the women's title at the Mutua Madrid Open on Saturday following a 7-5, 6-7 (7), 6-2 win over France's Kristina Mladenovic.
The No. 3 seed retained the title she also won in 2016 after being pushed all the way in the first two sets by the French No. 14 seed in a match which lasted a marathon 2 hours and 44 minutes.
It is Halep's first win of 2017. Enditem
