(BRF) Chinese premier meets Laotian president on cooperation

China is willing to deepen cooperation in major fields with Laos, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said on Saturday in Beijing while meeting with Laotian President Bounnhang Vorachit.

China will link the Belt and Road Initiative with Laos' target of turning from land-locked to land-linked country, fully tap the political and geographical advantages of China-Laos ties, deepen cooperation in key fields, and ensure smooth implementation of projects such as the China-Laos railway and cross-border economic cooperation zones, said the premier.

Li mentioned cooperation in fields of infrastructure construction, resource exploration and development, agriculture and power supply.p China is willing to strengthen communication and coordination with Laos under China-ASEAN relations and the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Framework in order to benefit people, Li said.

Bounnhang said Laos is willing to strengthen high-level exchanges, deepen cooperation with China in areas such as trade, investment and infrastructure construction, and speed up the construction of big projects such as the China-Laos railway.

Bounnhang is here to attend the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation scheduled for Sunday and Monday. Endi
