American Kendricks clinches men's pole vault title at Shanghai meeting

Olympic bronze medalist Sam Kendricks of the United States beat the indoor world record holder Renaud Lavillenie to win the men's pole vault event at Shanghai Diamond League meeting here on Saturday.

Kendricks cleared 5.88m while Frenchman Lavillenie finished at 5.83m to take the silver medal before both of them raised the bar to 5.93m but neither cleared the height. The reigning world champion Shawn Barber of Canada came third at 5.60m. Endit
