Two government employees were killed and two others wounded in a bomb attack in Afghanistan's capital of Kabul in morning rush hours on Saturday, police said.
"A sticky Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attached to a minibus was detonated in Makroryan-e-Awal locality at 07:30 a.m. local time. The bus was carrying city Water Supply Department workers," a district police official told Xinhua.
Security forces cordoned off the area, where several government offices and residential apartment buildings are located and police have launched an investigation into the incident, the source noted.
The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.
No group has claimed responsibility yet.
The Afghan government has recently ordered its employees to use public and private transportation in rush hours after a string of deadly bombings struck several government workers' buses in the past years.
The Afghan civilians continue to bear the brunt of armed conflicts as 715 civilians were killed and over 1,460 others injured in conflict-related incidents across Afghanistan in the first three months of the year.
On May 3, eight civilians were killed and two dozen civilians and three U.S. soldiers wounded after a suicide bombing targeted a U.S. military convoy near the U.S. embassy in Kabul. Endit
