At least five people were killed and 25 others including deputy chairman of Pakistan's Senate were injured after his convoy came under attack in the country's southwest Mustung district Friday afternoon, local media and officials said.

Molana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, deputy chairman of the Pakistan's upper house, said that he was on his way to attend a corner meeting when his convoy was attacked in Mustung district of the country's southwest Balochistan Province.

"My body is bleeding, but I am doing fine," Haideri told local media in a phone call while on the way to hospital.

All other injured people are also being shifted to nearby hospitals. No group has claimed the attack yet.

Police cordoned off the area for investigations. Endit
