British stocks rise 0.59 pct

British shares rose on Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.59 percent, or 43.03 points, to close at 7,385.24 points.

Hargreaves Lansdown, a British financial service company, soared 2.70 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Associated British Foods and SSE rose 2.38 percent and 2.31 percent respectively.

The British broadcast company ITV was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 2.29 percent. An international publishing group Pearson dropped 1.77 percent. Rolls-Royce Holdings, a British pre-eminent engineering company, fell 1.74 percent. Endit
