Paris CAC40 index gains 0.28 pct on Tuesday

French stock market index, the CAC 40, gained 0.28 percent and closed at 5,398.01 points on Tuesday.

The top three gainers were LAFARGEHOLM, up 2.92 percent, VIVENDI, up 1.74 percent, and ESSILOR INTL, up 1.46 percent.

The three companies, of which the stock prices dropped the most, were SOCIETE GENERALE, down 1.96 percent, VALEO, down 1.68 percent, and CREDIT AGRICOLE, down 1.01 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 lost 0.91 percent and closed at 5,382.95 points Monday. Enditem
