Kawasaki Frontale beat Eastern SC 4-0 to lead Group G of AFC Champions League

Kawasaki Frontale of Japan scored a commanding 4-0 victory at home over Eastern SC to qualify for the last 16 of the AFC Champions League on Tuesday.

Kawasaki made it to the elimination round as leaders of group G, after Guangzhou Evergrande of China tied Suwon Samsung Bluewings of South Korea 2-2 late Tuesday evening.

Levelled at 10 points, Kawasaki snatched the top spot of the group with a better head-to-head record over Guangzhou, while Suwon were eliminated with nine points.

Brazilian Rhayner put Kawasaki in front in the 28th minute with a header off a cross from Shintaro Kurumaya. Shogo Taniguchi enlarged the lead by swinging home a corner from Kengo Nakamura before the break.

The hosts continued their scoring orgy, as Tatsuya Hasegawa made it 3-0 in the 49th minute and Tatsuki Nara netted his header in the 53rd minute. Endit
