Xinhua, May 9, 2017 Adjust font size:

Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne's head coach Christophe Galtier will leave at the end of the season, the French club confirmed in a statement on Tuesday.

Saint-Etienne expressed their appreciation to the remarkable work done by Galtier, who took over the team on Nov. 15, 2009.

During Galtier's eight-season stint, the team finished fourth in 2013-2014, fifth in 2012-2013 and 2014-2015. They won the French League Cup in 2013 after a 32-year title draught.

"The club wishes Christophe Galtier success in the future," read the statement.

Galtier is among top 3 coaches with the most games in Saint-Etienne with a 362-match record after this season, where the team currently ranks 7th with a seven-point deficit against Bordeaux. Endit
