Chinese shares close lower Monday

Chinese stocks closed lower Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.79 percent to end the day at 3,078.61 points.

The smaller Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.91 percent lower at 9833.17 points. The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, ended 1.62 percent lower to close at 1,788.71 points. Endi
