No casualties reported in Central Asia earthquake

There has been no report of casualties in an earthquake Friday on the Tajikistan-Kyrgyzstan border.

"There was an earthquake at 10:09 local time (0509 GMT) in Tajikistan. The earthquake focus was located 265 km northeast of Dushanbe, near the border with Kyrgyzstan," said Zukhra Nilobekova, an expert of the Geophysical Survey of the Tajik Academy of Sciences.

The magnitude of the earthquake was 5-6 on the Richter scale near the focus. It was measuring 3-4 on the Richter scale in Dushanbe. There were no reports of casualties and destruction.

Meanwhile, seismological experimental-methodical expedition of the Kazakh Ministry of Education and Science reported that the magnitude of the earthquake was 5.9.

The Altai-Sayan branch of the United Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported an earthquake of 6.7 magnitude in southwest Kyrgyzstan. Endi
