German shares gain 0.96 pct

German stocks rose on Thursday, with the benchmark DAX index up 119.94 points or 0.96 percent, to close at 12,647.78 points.

German global banking and financial services provider Commerzbank gained the most among the blue chips, with its shares up by 3.03 percent.

Multinational chemical firm Linde and European health care company Fresenius SE advanced 1.86 percent and 1.83 percent, respectively.

Infineon Technologies, Allianz and E.ON were the top three blue-chip losers in the day, whose shares lost 1.92 percent, 1.70 percent and 0.59 percent respectively.

German insurance and financial services company Allianz was the most traded share with a turnover of 358.44 million euros (391.66 million U.S. dollars). Endit
