Pakistan condemns bomb attack in Kabul

Pakistan on Wednesday strongly condemned the suicide attack in Kabul that led to the loss of precious lives.

A suicide car bombing targeting a U.S. military convoy in Kabul on Wednesday killed eight civilians and injured 27 others, including three service members of the NATO-led Resolute Support.

Several injured were in critical conditions.

The Islamic State (IS) group claimed responsibility for the attack.

"Pakistan conveys its deepest sympathies to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones and prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured," the Foreign Ministry said.

Terrorism is a common challenge and therefore warrants a cooperative approach, the ministry said in a statement.

The blast, which occurred at Makroryan-i-Duam next to NATO-led Resolute Support headquarters at 8 a.m. local time (0330 GMT), also damaged several civilian vehicles and nearby apartment buildings.

On April 13, the U.S. forces in Afghanistan struck an IS cave complex with the largest non-nuclear bomb in Achin district, eastern Nangarhar province, killing nearly 100 IS fighters and destroying a militants' hideout together with several bunkers and tunnels. Endit
