Beijing police bust phone theft ring

Xinhua, May 3, 2017 Adjust font size:

Beijing police recently busted a gang of phone thieves and seized 525 cell phones from the four suspects.

The police returned some stolen cell phones to victims on Wednesday.

A phone theft gang was nabbed in Beijing in August 2016 with more than 500 phones and 200 public transport cards seized. Police found that the gang leader's younger brother was also involved in phone theft.

After half a year of investigation, the police discovered that the gang had been stealing cell phones across the city and the stolen phones were hidden in a house in Daxing District.

On April 20, police caught all four suspects and seized 525 phones and a large number of phone accessories.

The suspects have been detained and police are looking for more victims to return their phones. Endi
