At least 20 militants have been confirmed dead as the military aircraft pounded Taliban hideouts in Zebak district of northern Afghanistan's Badakhshan province Monday night, a senior police official in the northern region said Tuesday.

Badakhshan province, with Faizabad city as its capital, 315 km northeast of Kabul, has been the scene of Taliban increasing insurgency over the past three years.(Afghanistan-Airstrikes)

MANILA -- The communications chief of Philippine presidential office said on Tuesday that the government's anti-drug efforts launched 10 months ago are making "enormous strides", adding that the Philippines can now clearly see the results.

NEW DELHI -- India's central state of Madhya Pradesh has become the first in the country to change the financial year format to calendar year that is, January to December, starting next year as against the existing April to March cycle.
