1st LD: Evacuation as refinery gas leak in Scotland

A petrochemical plant in central Scotland was partially evacuated on Tuesday after a gas leak.

No injuries have been reported as of afternoon.

The leak was discovered in a pipeline on a gas manufacturing area at the Ineos site at midday.

Local safety authorities confirmed that emergency services were called to the scene and part of the site has been evacuated and roads have been closed.

The plant said in a statement that emergency services are in attendance and the incident management team have been mobilized to manage the situation. Endit
