Xinhua, April 30, 2017 Adjust font size:

Russia registered a total of 15 violations of ceasefire in Syria in the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said Sunday.

"Within last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered 15 ceasefire violations in the provinces of Damascus (9), Latakia (3), Daraa (1) and Hama (2)." The ministry's center for Syrian reconciliation said in a daily bulletin published on its website.

The Turkish party has registered 12 cases of ceasefire violations in five provinces, which the Russian side has not confirmed, the document added.

Both Russia and Turkey are guarantors of a nationwide Syrian ceasefire regime that came into force on December 30, 2016.

In addition, 2 ceasefire agreements have been signed within the past 24 hours, the bulletin said.

So far, a total of 1,475 inhabited areas have signed ceasefire agreements, and 236 inhabited areas have been liberated by the Syrian troops from the ISIS armed formations, according to the ministry. Endit
