Bottas win career's first title in Sochi Formula One race

Xinhua, April 30, 2017 Adjust font size:

Starting from the second row, Valtteri Bottas from Mercedes overtook on the first curve and led the race all the way to the end in Russian Grand Prix to win his first ever Formula One title on Sunday.

Vettel, the Ferrari driver, took the pole position and his teammate Kimi Raikkonnen complete the first row. It's the first time Ferrari has both cars on the first row since the 2008 French GP.

It is also the third straight Russian GP title for Mercedes. Bottas' teammate Lewis Hamilton finished fourth.

Vettel, who was blocked by Massa in the last lap, missed the last chance to overtake. He finished second, only 0.6 seconds behind Bottas. Raikkonnen claimed his first podium finish since March 2016 by finishing third.

With the victory, Battas also becomes the fifth Formula One race winner from Finland. Endit
