German benchmark DAX index closes flat Friday

The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Friday closed almost flat at 12,438.01 points with a mere lost of 5.78 points or 0.05 percent.

Housing association Vonovia lost the most among the blue chips, whose share went down by 2.18 percent, followed by German multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement and Deutsche Bank by losing 1.95 percent and 1.29 percent respectively.

Linde, Commerzbank and Deutsche Post were the top three winners, whose shares gained 2.01 percent, 1.92 percent and 1.49 percent respectively.

German multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer was the most traded share with a turnover of 509.64 million euros (557.03 million U.S. dollars). Endit
