Japan's core consumer prices rise 0.2 pct in March

Japan's consumer prices rose 0.2 percent from a year earlier in March, the government said in a report on Friday.

The core consumer price index (CPI), which includes oil products but excludes fresh food prices, rose 0.2 percent in March, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said.

The reading came in below median analysts estimates for a 0.3 percent increase, but marked an increase in the core consumer price index for the third successive month. Endit
