German benchmark DAX index loses 0.23 pct

The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Thursday lost 29.01 points or 0.23 percent, and closed at 12443.79 points.

Reinsurance company Munich Re lost the most among the blue chips, whose share went down by 5.33 percent, followed by German airlines Lufthansa and industry giant Thyssenkrupp that lost 5.01 percent and 3.70 percent respectively.

Deutsche Boerse, Bayer and Continental were the top three winners on Thursday, whose shares gained 4.17 percent, 4.13 percent and 1.44 percent respectively.

German multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer was the most traded share with a turnover of 458.27 million euros (about 498.64 million U.S. dollars). Endit
