A group of three ships under the Russian Navy's Pacific Fleet arrived at Cam Ranh international seaport in Vietnam's south central coastal Khanh Hoa province on Thursday, starting a visit to the country.

The group involves the guard missile cruiser Varyag, the medium-sized sea tanker Pechanga, and the rescue tugboat Fotiy Krylov as well as 642 sailors onboard of the three ships, reported Vietnam's state-run news agency VNA.

During the visit, commanders of the ship group will pay a courtesy call on leaders of Khanh Hoa's people's committee and the Vietnamese Navy.

The visit will help continue enhancing Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership, including the ties in defense and navy, said VNA. Endit
