The four countries agreed here Wednesday to upgrade the talks on Bangladesh-China-India-Myarmar Economic Corridor (BCIM-EC) to the Intergovernmental Level once the report of BCIM-EC Joint Study Group is completed, according to the Chinese delegation.

Experts of the four countries are scheduled to meet in Kunming, China to discuss and revise the report of BCIM-EC Joint Study Group in mid-June this year, a Chinese delegate said.

The four countries decided that the next meeting of the Joint Study Group will be held in Myarmar in 2018.

The agreement was reached at the third meeting of BCIM-EC Joint Study Group which began here on Tuesday.

The two-day BCIM meeting reviewed the economic integration of the region with focus on trade and energy cooperation while facilitating the construction of an economic corridor from Kunming to Kolkata and discussed the report of BCIM-EC Joint Study Group, which has laid basis for further cooperation, the Chinese delegate said.
