AFC Champions League: Al Fateh 1-1 Esteghlal Khouzestan

Xinhua, April 26, 2017 Adjust font size:

Iran's Esteghlal Khouzestan drew 1-1 with Saudi Arabia's Al Fateh in Group B of the 2017 AFC Champions League, local media reported on Wednesday.

Salman Bahrani's injury-time overhead kick secured a point for Esteghlal Khouzestan on Tuesday after substitute Ali Al Zaqan had looked set to seal all three points for the Saudi club with his effort just five minutes from time.

With the result, Al Fateh remained in the third place with six points, two points behind the 2016 Iranian champions who are in second.

The Saudi side are scheduled to meet Lekhwiya of Qatar in the final round of group stage matches and Esteghlal Khouzestan will encounter an already eliminated Al Jazira from the UAE.

Lekhwiya secured its advancement to the Round of 16 by beating Al Jazira 3-1 on Tuesday. Endit
