Denmark's FC Copenhagen announced on Tuesday to bring in Cypriot striker Pieros Sotiriou from next season, local media reported.
Sotiriou, 24, will come to replace forward Andreas Cornelius, who is ready to join Italian outfit Atalanta from next season, according to English-newspaper The Copenhagen Post.
Sotiriou is currently playing for APOEL Nicosia. He has scored 23 goals in 43 appearances, including one against FC Copenhagen when the two clubs met in the Champions League qualification earlier this season.
"I am very happy to have signed with FC Copenhagen and I will do my best to bring the club more success," the striker was quoted as saying.
Sotiriou is currently valued at 1.2 million euro, according to Transfermarkt.
FC Copenhagen are leading Denmark's Superliga with a comfortable 13 points.
Head coach Stale Solbakken said Sotiriou would boost the Danish champions in a number of areas.
"We've found a striker who has a little bit of everything and has the profile we are looking for in a striker," he was quoted by the paper as saying.
"He has physicality on an international level, a strong work rate and is able to combine those attributes well into a fine goal-scoring record. He brings international experience and has shown he can handle playing under pressure for a top club," Solbakken added. Endit
