Esteghlal vows to win against Al Ahli

Xinhua, April 25, 2017 Adjust font size:

Iran's Esteghlal coach Alireza Mansourian said his team will do its best to defeat Al Ahli of the United Arab Emirates in the 2017 AFC Champions League, Tasnim news agency reported on Tuesday.

The Iranian team will host Al Ahli, the Group A leader, in Tehran's Azadi Stadium late Tuesday with both sides eyeing the win to put one foot in the last 16 of the competitions.

Esteghlal lost to Al Ahli 2-1 in Matchday One and a win in front of home support would make the two-time Asian champion strong favorite to advance to the first knockout phase since 2013.

"It will be a decisive match for us and we will do our best to get three points. If we win the match we will move top of the group," Mansourian said. Endit
