Janko Tipsarevic from Serbia defended his title at the Qingdao leg of the ATP China International Tennis Challenge, after beating German Oscar Otte 6-3, 7-6 (11) on Sunday.

"Qingdao is my lucky place, and I will come back again," said Tipsarevic, ranked 89th in the world.

The 23-year-old Otte, No. 367 in the world, had beaten local wild card Wang Aoxiong, Australian Alex De Minaur, China's Wu Di and then fifth seeded Quentin Halys from France in the semifinals.

"I've managed to get through matches saving my energy and have just performed better and better," said Otte, "The conditions here are also very good for me. It's a slow surface and I have time for my shots."

Gero Kretschmer/Alexander Satschk beat Andreas Mies/Oscar Otte in an all-German final of men's doubles on Saturday.

The Qingdao tourney started on April 15 and featured over 60 players from 35 countries and regions. Endit
