Slovakia on Saturday tied the Netherlands 1-1 for the World Group in Fed Cup after the first day.

Slovak player Jana Cepelova defeated Richel Hogenkamp 6-3, 6-2 over one and a half hours, before Kiki Bertens dominated Rebecca Sramkova 6-1, 6-3.

"I have played a very good match," said Bertens.

"After Richel's defeat I was under more pressure, but I did it. I'm glad I won in two sets."

Bertens will play Cepelova and Hogenkamp will take on Sramkova on Sunday. Endit
