Thailand's Kanyalak Preedasuttijit fired three birdies over her final four holes on Thursday as the rookie pro carded a three-under 69 to take the first-round lead at the Zhangjiagang Shuangshan Challenge in Jiangsu province, China.

Starting her afternoon round from the Shuangshan Golf Course 10th tee, the 19-year-old Kanyalak stayed steady in the windy conditions to close with a late birdie blitz at the sixth, seventh and ninth holes.

"It's a good day. I made many putts today, which is quite nice. Everything is good. It is my first year and my first trip here. I feel excited with this leading position," said Kanyalak.

Yeh Hsin-Ning carded back-to-back birdies at the 15th and 16th holes to get to three-under, but then stumbled to a bogey five at the 17th hole. She shared a second rank with Malaysia's Aretha Pan.

Liu Wenbo, a 16-year-old Chinese amateur, tied with compatriots Yang Taoli, Guo Caizhu and Li Jiayun at 71. Endit
